Hieroglyphics Task Card

This task card will require you to complete online activities, and read and create Hieroglyphics.
Go to http://www.greatscott.com/hiero/ and click on the link for writing. Read each of the pages within the writing section, clicking the next button to navigate to each page.
Activity 1:
Spell out your name and your partner's name on a piece of paper using the alphabet and biliterals pages as a reference.

Explore 4 websites about Hieroglyphics. List the websites and 4 new facts you learned on each one.
Activity 4
The Rosetta Stone was a very important discovery that helped us interpret hieroglyphics. Prepare a short, 2 page report on the Rosetta Stone. Explain what it is, where it was found, and by whom. Describe how we were able to use it to help us decipher hieroglyphics. Include a map graphic and 2 photo graphics in your presentation. This link may help you but there are many others you can find. It is always good to look at more than one site to ensure that your information is accurate.
Activity 5
The Egyptians made paper from reeds called papyrus that grew along the Nile . Click here and here to learn about papyrus.
Clearly outline the steps the Egyptians used to make papyrus. Try it at home if your parents will let you.
